ein neues P3/PR3 möglich? - Diskussionen hier

Man müßte das Spielkonzept in diesem Punkt also ziemlich neu gestalten (Zeit?).

  • So as from the beginning, and as for exemple for the church, I wish to speak more about:

    EXTENSIONS:

    Church Extension:
    -----------------
In actual Game, people whined about church extension, then you pay for it (even don't know how many material is needed), and OK. Is this tactical Gain of reputation satisfactory or not?

As in a Game like Victoria, Clergy were (especially in Medieval Times!!) influential on town's people. So if you keep the Clergy happy / on your side, they may help you... This will be instrumental about your future expansion projects. More concretely speaking:

At the beginning, under Game Difficulty Settings, there is a section about "Needs of the Citizens" => linked to Satisfaction Level, as *with* Low, Mediocre and High number of existing Goods... In the new Concept, after each Church Extension, the people may be satisfied with "a level lower" existing Goods in Town's Market, at this given town. That will worth the shot, after however paying huge sums and/or delivering big quantity of building materials.

    Naval Yard Extension:
    ---------------------
I am finding not a bad idea to begin with ships @ smaller capacity; but waiting nearly 2 game years to reach full capacity with all build and repair works, is a bit frustrating. Especially for some standardization maniacs like myself. While keeping this Concept alive, there must be another option to Naval Yard's Extension.

As for the Church, the player must have the *possibility* for pay +/ deliver construction materials, wait for exemple a month and Naval Yard may reach to its full potential; without these pesky repair-waitings. Because this is an option, every player can of course choose the way it pleases to him, as same as before.

There is another note about Naval Yard:
Sometimes, upgrading a ship is needed; as we use the button under Naval Yard menu "Improve Ship". And we upgrade generic ship to Level-2 or Level-3. But there are also some conditions that one may have too many Level-2 or Level-3 ships, and the need to *revert them back to Level-1* will be a very welcomed option. All we need is another button with "Revert Ship" command. As for upgrading, the player must pay the job and wait -/+ a week... If he receives some % of dismounted materials to his office, this will be a nice bonus.

    Kontor/Trade Office Extension:
    ------------------------------
This will directly linked to Storage Capacity......
In future version, it is hoped to see dismounted this "Lager/Warehouse" concept..

So as we open the Trade Window, there is some info on the top as for exemple 24960/500, about the Volume of Your Wares/Actual Office Capacity. Given the necessity of the Cost and Materials needed, the Player may have an option of *infinite times* to upgrade his Trade Office about Storage Capacity. So after first extension (money+materials+wait a week), the Office may increase its Storage Capacity to ex. 24960/20500, and so on; always paying this unsufficiency of capacity as usual. Also new Guards must be needed according to this changement, if not...

    Bath House Extensions:
    ---------------------------------

When you render this happy medium to a Hanse-wide reputation, the player may have better chances to meet even some farthermost key-figures of his playground.

  • I don't know will anybody take care about all these musings(!), or is already too late to speak about them.. After all, it's a pleasure to write someting. Here it continues:

    MAIN HANSE MAP:
    --------------------

To stimulate immersion in the Game Atmosphere, a bigger and more detailed Main Map will be a very welcomed revision. As todays computer monitors are clearly wider than some years ago. Also resolution options of the game will be bigger, and support for widescreen will be appreciated.

    1./Exact Courses of Rivers:
    From:
    Bruges to Meuse
    Köln to Rhine
    Bremen to Weser
    Hamburg to Elbe
    Stettin to Oder
    Danzig to Vistula
    Memel to Niemen
    Riga to Düna

    2./Inland Trade:
These rivers will be main axis' for Inland Trade... All trade must be done with ships, as always... Just click one of the rivers, firstly for discovery, and thereafter to open the Trade Window that opens to hinterland City; as done for Med Trade. Every River may serve to 2 inland cities...But in every Game, the player can randomly contact with only 1 of them.

There is many businesses w/plenty of fun to do with these 8 of 16 cities in the Game, from Atlantic to White Sea. Their role must not be primary as in a Seaside City, but they must open different gates to some operations that the player *can not* do @ sea ports, ie. exotic products, mining activities, some less legal jobs as smuggling (here this old dead-born concept may resurrect) etc.

3./Please put the City of Narva in place of Ladoga.

Money Lender functioning as a Goldsmith and Haute Couture:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a wide niche here to occupy the player: From Selling exotic goods as Gold & Silver Bars, Gemstones, Amber!!, Silk, Opium, Carpets etc... As known, these props were indispensable to deal for a Man of Power as long distance trader, these times... All these valuables are not to be sold to the city (so nothing to clutter the traditional City-Trade-Window), but to be exchanged in this building. Very highly lucrative business for the Player, so very highly motivating Discovering Attempts.

    Pirate Exercices:
    ---------------------

1./Pirate Nest: More to do beside fuming it and money spoiling.
2./Finding Captives, Treasures, Light Arms, Treasure Maps, Exotic Goods, Logs with valuable infos... in captured Pirate Ships.
3./Treasure Maps: Please more valuables that worth the efforts.
4./Outrigger: Very idle element actually...Time to time, pirates must organize a Sneak Attack to cities from the sea.

    Kontor Revisited:
    -------------------

A personal stash is badly needed to safe all your valuables; in the kontorhaus...in your Bürgermeister City..

I don't know witch is the state of developmnet in Daniel Dumonts Team.

Maybe the make some changes or a completely new game is designed.

I insistet that there shold be the option to load mods. So the users are able to change the most things on their own.

I think it's a good idea to use the rivers for connecting the country.

  • Hi Builder, thank you for replying.

As you know, Simulation Games, are not simply a Game, but _TOYS_ that we bigger children era able to play with. Just imagine a Train or Flight Simulator in a Computer... Better yet, Patrizier 2 is not as simple/shallow as them.

What I admire most in this Game, is its unbelievable Depth. Because once you master -all- aspects of a Game, the Game is dead. Simple as that. Just imagine in a Game Forum, everyone is knowing everything... By this point of view, Patrizier is really intriguing!.. At all costs, not to lose this aspect.

I think anybody will object to this fact for Patrizier Series also: We are facing to a Toy. All efforts must possibly be well done that this toy will have an important longevity...The Game must exert: a difficult to master, deep but as big as inviting charisma to the players. And always provoke a desire, giving an immense pleasure and fun between Gamers... to be played and tinkered more and more and more.....

"Enforced" Easiness will kill Patrizier. I hope developers will note about this .

I think that the easyness was the problem of the PR titles.

There was no variance between easy and diffcult. If I play the lowest level it should be easy to win. If I play higest levell it should be extremly diffcult to win.

In my oppinion P3 must have an higher comlexity than P2.

But im not shure witch is the right way to make P3 as fascinating as P2.

There are many things in the game witch are not planned to work in the way they do.

Niemand braucht ein einfaches Spiel! Ein gutes Spiel reicht!

  • They were terribly easy to play. Boringly so. I had a fit when the ship battles were a single vessel. No chance for tactics, coordinated attacks. I called it PR2Easy2Play.

Construction of canals would be interesting, more river cities and roads for inland trading. One of my contest games used the roads, which are underutilized by most players.

The stock market is terribly underdeveloped. Shares of multiple companies, some thriving, some bankrupting should trade.

I look forward to EIC, and its concepts. I am sure the developers will too, since EIC is in part an imitation of PR and PR2. I think the battle screens will be a big improvement. Lastly, the chance to build some small mining operations, and to build a better looking trading office. Nothing too elaborate, just a small palace ...

I agree in The Easysness of Seabattles in the PR series. I have never had a game that allwoet to control multipe Ships in fight in a uesefull way.

If there is a Demo for EIC i will try it.

  • Hi fellow Traders,

Always from the domain "If it's not too much and too late":

    * Captain Tracking/Monitoring: Just one more option to sort ships *by captain skills*. 555>541>534>520>515>504>455

    * Possibility to Demolish player-built civic buildings, as Kontor, Hospital, School and Mint etc.

    * More developed Editor; and allowing the players also to create Graphic Mods *only*... Sorry Builder, I am not for Editing Game/Save Files, as most of Paradox Games like Victoria, HoI-2 etc. This is appealing at first hand but kinda cheating, and may *high* risk to be finalized with a quick boredom to the whole Game. This is my personal experience.

    * Possibility to pause the Game, while being able to continue to play, (except for battle screen) à la SimCity 4 manner.

    * Beside Roads and Wells, possibility to build *increasable* Sewer System (Uncapping Element after 10.000 and then, every 10.000er increments pop.;=> less epidemics, more happiness +rep. :giggle: ).

    * For Pirate Maps and Treasure Maps, no need to irritate players to find the exact locality by pixels precision: Please just put a buoy, à la PR2 style; or better yet, render this difficulty to a more appealing and intriguing atmosphere.

    A small note for all:

I am deeply grateful to all respectable members here, to tolerate english messages between german topics... Of course writing here in English is by no means any offence from myself, just a desire to keep communication channels open. Unfortunately I can not write in German, but this can not hinder my respect to all involved in German and Germany related.
    Thanks Again.

    I never insisted modding Savegames.

But if ther is a possibiltiy to mod how many of witch stuff is needed in witch amount. A mod will enable to rebalance the game.

The changed Tables are loded when the game ist started and are not accessable in a save.

My example was Civilisation. If somone is able to to handle SDK nearly everything can be changed. The game lodes the compiled files from another folder. So it's easy to switch back to origin. Saves from these mods dont work out of them.

    Preussenhusar

Builder , then sorry for my misunderstanding.

I am for a solid and fixed Game Usage, equal for all, thus that will make a solid "GamePlay Reference" for all people.

It will be the less wished case for me that here in this forum, some members will begin to speak about "Vanilla Patrizier"? Always for my point of view, if the player enters in the ocean of modding, this is not playing the Game anymore.. Passing nightloads of time in internet to firstly find, then obtain permissions to download many dozens of props, then install them, then deleting half of those downloads, then to reinternet to find solutions for incompatibilities...finally playing (certainly sloower than before)... OK for a week or so, then desiring more or other...A good recipe to finish a game off.

I don't know clearly, but after Civ-2 (my first Cult Game, that I assembled my first PC to play it, because firstly there was not a Mac version), Civ series suddenly faded in my eyes with 3rd version... For a good sequel to Civ (it may well be for any game), I remember a geek has written some (for me) general useful points. Unfortunately I lost this document.

So I wish one and only Patrizier for all, but deep and sophisticated enough to support many different styles of playing.

I played CIV 2 for many times. I Tryed the third version buy that was not my game.

Some Mods are nearly new games.
